The rules that apply when you inquire about, reserve, pay for or participate in a tour or travel service arranged by Corcovado Tour.
Confirmed reservations for Corcovado National Park and Caño Island Biological Reserve are final and non-refundable. Admissions, vessel spaces, transportation, accommodation, meals and other services may be purchased or firmly committed immediately after payment, and Corcovado Tour may receive no refund from the authority or supplier.
Please verify the tour, date, departure point, participant details and identification information before paying. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, delay, illness and other unexpected events.
These Terms and Conditions apply to inquiries, quotations, reservations and tourism services offered or arranged by Corcovado Tour through corcovadotour.com, payment links, email, telephone, WhatsApp, social media or direct communication.
By submitting payment or accepting a written booking confirmation, the lead guest confirms that they have read and accepted these terms for themselves and for every participant included in the reservation. The lead guest is responsible for sharing all relevant booking, safety and cancellation information with the group.
Tour-specific written conditions shown on a product page, quotation or confirmation form part of the agreement. If a tour-specific condition conflicts with a general condition on this page, the more specific written condition will apply to that reservation, subject to applicable law.
A quotation is not a confirmed reservation and does not hold admissions, guides, vessel spaces, rooms, transportation or other services unless Corcovado Tour expressly states otherwise in writing.
A reservation is confirmed only when:
Availability may change before confirmation. If a requested service becomes unavailable before confirmation, Corcovado Tour may offer an alternative or return the amount received for the unavailable service.
Unless Corcovado Tour approves a different arrangement in writing, 100% payment through the official online payment link is required to confirm a reservation.
When an alternative arrangement is expressly approved, the agreed advance payment must be received by the stated deadline and the remaining balance must be paid at the time and by the method shown in the written confirmation. An alternative arrangement offered in one case does not create a right to the same arrangement for another booking.
Prices apply to the services and number of participants stated in the quotation. Bank charges, payment-processing fees, exchange-rate differences and card-provider charges may apply. Charges that have already been incurred and cannot be recovered may be deducted from any refund permitted under these terms.
Guests must provide complete and accurate names, identification details, nationality, age category and other information requested for reservations, admissions, invoicing or safety. The person making the booking must check spelling and document numbers before payment.
Protected areas may require the original valid passport, cédula or other identification used for the reservation. A guest may be denied entry for missing, expired, inconsistent or incorrect documentation. Unless caused by an error made solely by Corcovado Tour, denied entry, replacement admissions and related costs are the guest’s responsibility and are not refundable.
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Cancellation requests must be sent through an official Corcovado Tour contact channel and are effective when received and acknowledged in writing.
Corcovado National Park and Caño Island: confirmed sales are final and non-refundable because admissions and related services may be non-refundable from the moment they are committed.
Local and other tours: unless the product page or confirmation states a different deadline, a cancellation received at least 72 hours before the scheduled start may qualify for a refund of recoverable amounts, less admissions, supplier commitments, processing charges and other non-recoverable costs. A cancellation received less than 72 hours before the start is charged at 100%.
Some boat, river, private, multi-day or supplier-operated services may require 96 hours or a longer notice period. The applicable deadline will be stated in the product information, quotation or confirmation. Where a supplier imposes a stricter condition disclosed before payment, that condition applies to the affected component.
No refund is provided when a participant fails to appear, arrives too late to join safely, leaves voluntarily after a tour has begun, lacks required documentation, or does not use an included service.
Guests must arrive at the meeting point by the time stated in the confirmation. Boats, park entries, shared transport and guided departures cannot always wait. Corcovado Tour will make reasonable efforts to assist, but any replacement transport, admission, accommodation or other recovery cost is the guest’s responsibility.
A request to change the date, participants, departure point or service is subject to availability, official rules and supplier approval. A change is not effective until Corcovado Tour confirms it in writing.
Any additional price, new admission, fare difference, supplier penalty or administrative cost must be paid before the change is confirmed. When admissions or services already purchased cannot be changed or refunded, the original amount remains non-refundable. A requested date change may be treated as a cancellation and new booking when the original services cannot be transferred.
Safety, protected-area rules, weather, sea or river conditions, road access, official closures, supplier availability and operational events may require Corcovado Tour to change the guide, vessel, vehicle, route, order, schedule, meeting point or included service.
If Corcovado Tour cancels a service for reasons within its reasonable control, the guest will be offered an appropriate alternative, rescheduling, credit or refund for the cancelled service, as applicable.
If an authority, protected-area administrator or independent supplier cancels or restricts a service, Corcovado Tour will seek a practical alternative and will pass on any amount actually recovered for the affected component. Amounts retained by authorities or suppliers and reasonable services already performed remain non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
Tropical weather alone does not automatically cancel a tour. Activities may operate in rain when conditions remain acceptable. Decisions about navigation, access, route changes or suspension are made with safety and official instructions in mind.
Corcovado Tour is not responsible for failure, delay or alteration caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, unsafe sea or river conditions, natural disasters, fire, flooding, landslides, road closures, strikes, public-health measures, government action, protected-area closures, transportation disruption or similar events.
In such cases, the priority will be rescheduling or providing a reasonable alternative. Any refund is limited to amounts actually recoverable after deducting services already provided and non-recoverable commitments. Guests are responsible for incidental expenses such as additional lodging, meals or transportation unless Corcovado Tour expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Guests must review the duration, terrain, climate, navigation, boarding conditions and physical requirements of the selected activity. Before booking, they should disclose any relevant mobility limitation, allergy, dietary requirement, medical condition, pregnancy, recent injury or other circumstance that may require planning or affect safe participation.
Corcovado Tour does not provide medical advice. When uncertain, guests should consult a qualified health professional before participating. Guides or operators may modify or refuse participation when they reasonably believe that a person’s condition, equipment, conduct or preparation creates a serious risk to that person or others. A refusal based on information that was withheld or on failure to meet disclosed requirements is not refundable.
Minors must be booked by and remain under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult. Age restrictions may apply to particular activities.
Participants must follow guide, crew, authority and protected-area instructions; remain with the group; respect wildlife, local communities and other guests; and avoid conduct that is illegal, abusive, dangerous or disruptive. Smoking, alcohol or impairing substances may be restricted or prohibited depending on the activity and location.
A participant may be removed or denied participation when reasonably necessary for safety, legality or the welfare of others. In such a case, no refund is due and any resulting transport or other expense is the participant’s responsibility.
Wildlife is free-ranging and sightings, species, quantity, proximity and photographic opportunities are never guaranteed. Sample itineraries and times are estimates and may change according to conditions, permits, animal activity and group pace.
Corcovado Tour may arrange services delivered by qualified independent guides, boat operators, transport providers, accommodations, food providers and other tourism partners. Those providers remain responsible for the direct performance of their own services, while Corcovado Tour remains responsible to the extent required by the agreement and applicable law.
Images and descriptions illustrate the experience but do not guarantee identical conditions, equipment, wildlife or scenery on a particular date.
Guests are responsible for passports, money, electronics, cameras, luggage and other personal belongings. Rain, humidity, salt water, boat boarding and uneven terrain can damage property; suitable protection is strongly recommended.
Guests should obtain travel insurance appropriate to the activity, including coverage for cancellation, illness, medical care, evacuation, delay and personal property. Any insurance maintained by Corcovado Tour is subject to its own limits, exclusions and claim procedures and does not replace a guest’s personal coverage.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Corcovado Tour is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events caused by the guest, an unavoidable external event or an independent provider beyond Corcovado Tour’s reasonable control.
If a problem occurs during a tour, please notify the guide or Corcovado Tour as soon as reasonably possible so that an appropriate solution can be attempted. Written complaints should include the booking name, tour date, relevant facts and requested resolution and should be submitted promptly through an official contact channel.
These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Any mandatory consumer right or competent authority established by applicable law remains unaffected. If translated versions differ, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law unless the booking confirmation expressly identifies another controlling language.
