This is a one-day tour. No overnight stay inside Corcovado National Park.
Explore the La Leona Sector of Corcovado National Park on a full-day hiking adventure from Puerto Jiménez, combining remote coastal landscapes, rainforest trails, and wildlife observation.
The journey begins early with shared 4×4 transportation from Puerto Jiménez to Carate, passing through the rural southern Osa Peninsula before reaching the end of the road. From Carate, you begin the walk along the beach and coastal forest toward La Leona, one of Corcovado’s most scenic land-access sectors.
After entering the park, you continue toward Madrigal, hiking through tropical forest, sandy sections, uneven trails, and open coastal areas. Along the way, your certified naturalist guide helps you interpret animal tracks, bird calls, movement in the canopy, plants, and the connections between the rainforest and the Pacific coast.
A box lunch is included during the tour. After exploring the La Leona and Madrigal areas, you hike back to Carate and return to Puerto Jiménez by 4×4 in the afternoon.
This experience is ideal for active travelers who want more than a short rainforest walk and are comfortable with a longer, physically demanding day in hot, humid, and sometimes muddy conditions.
