This guided twilight wildlife tour begins at Drake Bay’s main beach, where you meet your guide at 4:45 p.m. before departing at 5:00 p.m.. The walk follows the coastal trail in the direction of Cocalito and passes through sections of primary rainforest.
The first part of the experience takes place in the remaining daylight, when birds and daytime mammals may still be active. Possible sightings include white-faced capuchin monkeys, birds, reptiles, insects, frogs, bats, and other forest wildlife.
As daylight fades, the forest changes in temperature, sound, and activity. Each guest receives a handheld flashlight, and the guide helps reveal movement, calls, tracks, behavior, and small details that are easy to miss after dark. The group turns back according to wildlife activity, trail conditions, weather, and pace, with an expected return around 7:00 p.m.
