Visit the Finca 6 Site Museum in Palmar Sur, the principal visitor site within the UNESCO World Heritage property known as the Precolumbian Chiefdom Settlements with Stone Spheres of the Diquís. With a certified guide, you will move beyond the familiar mystery of the spheres and explore what archaeology reveals about the complex societies that created them.
Inside the museum and archaeological area, learn how the spheres were made and transported, why their original placement matters and how they relate to residential mounds, public spaces and the wider landscape of the Diquís Delta. The visit also connects the pre-Columbian story with the later banana plantations, when agricultural development exposed and displaced many archaeological objects.
This is a cultural and archaeological walking tour. Some features are outdoors, so heat, sun or rain may affect conditions.
