Day One
The adventure begins at 5:30 a.m. with a colectivo ride from Puerto Jimenez to Carate, followed by a one-hour beach walk to La Leona Ranger Station, the official entrance to Corcovado. From there, we hike through pristine rainforest for about 8 hours toward Sirena Station, crossing rivers and remote beaches along the way. A key point is Sal Si Puedes, a tide-dependent section that may require a short wait during high tide.
Upon arrival at Sirena Station, your guide helps you settle in. The rest of the day is for relaxing, watching the sunset, or exploring nearby trails on your own.
Optional Boat-In: For an easier start, depart from Drake Bay at 6:00 a.m. for a one-hour coastal boat ride to Sirena Beach. After check-in, we hike nearby trails, have lunch at 11:00 a.m., rest, and walk again until 5:00 p.m.
Day Two
Start with a 5:30 a.m. sunrise hike followed by breakfast at 7:00 a.m. After a short rest, we explore different trails until 11:00 a.m. After lunch and downtime, we go for another afternoon walk, returning around 5:30 p.m.
Day Three – Hike Out
Depart at 5:00 a.m. for a 9-hour journey to Los Patos Ranger Station. Breaks are provided along the way. At Los Patos, transportation to Puerto Jimenez is arranged.
Optional Boat-Out: Begin with a 5:00 a.m. walk, followed by breakfast at 6:30 a.m. After a final walk and lunch at 11:00 a.m., the boat departs at 1:00 p.m., arriving back in Puerto Jimenez around 3:00 p.m.
When the guide or captain gives the signal to board, please step onto the boat and find a seat promptly. Following these simple steps ensures a safe boarding process.
When the crew signals to disembark, please step off the boat carefully—do not jump—to avoid any accidents.
